In 1985, Pain and Stress Consultant Judy Leighton, based on some of her previous
discoveries, designed a new stress-reduction methodology that has aided others to
more quickly recognize and release interwoven mental/emotional traps (double
binds).
As guest consultant, Judy has been demonstrating the method at Medical Centers,
and Public Seminars. Her work has benefited a wide variety of people through
pain and stress relief, (those with cancer, various other chronic diseases, PTSD,
attempted suicides, physical and sex abuse, eating disorders, smoking, drug and
alcohol abuse, and learning disabilities). The method also benefits those with
just the problems and stress of everyday life.
The simple techniques of the method include a loop of connected thoughts and
feelings that may assist in safely knowing and acting on healthy choices. This
includes safely accepting a healthy self-worth, and more easily releasing the
fear, pain, or numbness from memories. This may also benefit those who have just
been gutsing their way through life. You can listen to the Relaxation Exercise in
a relaxed place with your eyes open or closed. You can also add additional time
listening while you are doing other activities to aid yourself in memorizing the
phrases.
The messages of this method are aids which may be interpreted as: Through
greater inner peace and awareness, you may create and attract greater safety for
yourself, others, and situations while preserving your natural appropriate
protective capacity.
When you may not have time to listen to the complete 35 minute Relaxation
Exercise, you can choose a 12 minute, or 24 minute section.
Repeating the phrases, writing them down, memorizing them, and making signs (to
place on refrigerator, etc) of the messages in the Relaxation Exercise may aid
you to get results more quickly and easily.
To aid in memorizing the phrases, additional time listening to the CD can be
added while you are doing other activities (physical exercise, walking, chores,
etc.). Also, you can write down the phrases to use while doing these activities,
and when recalling them, you can add melodies and rhythms. Do not use while driving or operating machinery.
